Benidorm has already  installed  the bases of the bicycle hire service, which is open from the beginning of May. They have introduced 10 bases spread all around the city. Specifically, the promenade of Levante and Poniente area of Rincon de L'oix, Avenida de Europa, Plaza Torrrejó, Parque de Elche, near the Town Hall, environment Municipal Market, Bus Terminal, Tram station, sports center Foietes and Palau d'Esports L'illa de Benidorm. This project has a budget of € 237,683 financed by the Valencian Agency of Energy. The Consistory of Benidorm will assume the maintenance and operation costs, estimated at about 300,000 € / year (approx). This investment will reduce the emission of polluting gases, avoiding the emission of 135 tons of carbon dioxide (CO2) into the atmosphere each year. Those wishing to access the service can do so with a previously registered card in the council. The collection of the bike will be done in one of the parkings at one of the 10 points using the card and PIN code that is assigned to that person upon request. The withdrawal will be entering the lock on the bike at any point in the city where the database is installed. Also they are evaluating the possibility of providing that service to tourists visiting our city, from the reception and mediation of Hotels in Benidorm, to expedite this means of transport that benefits us all and whose foreign clients (mostly Dutchmen) are accustomed to make use of.
